The theme of World Water Day 2021 is “Valuing Water”.
Raise awareness when you raise a glass.
How often do you pour water into a glass without a second thought as to where it came from? How often do you worry about whether it's good for human consumption?
When you open your tap and clean, fresh water pours into your glass, take a moment and consider the magic of that.
Water is one of the most important substances on earth. All plants and animals must have water to survive. If there was no water there would be no life on earth
World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the global water crisis, and a core focus of the observance is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.
At our project, Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve, we have taken a number of steps to ensure the availability of clean water for all community members.
"The value of water is about much more than its price – water has enormous and complex value for our households, food, culture, health, education, economics and the integrity of our natural environment. If we overlook any of these values, we risk mismanaging this finite, irreplaceable resource.
SDG 6 is to ensure water and sanitation for all. Without a comprehensive understanding of water’s true, multidimensional value, we will be unable to safeguard this critical resource for the benefit of everyone."- unwater.org
